The monitors were monochrome, they flickered and had bad image quality.
They were used until the early 1980s.

In 1981, IBM created the Color Graphics Adaptor which could show four colors
IBM created a Enhanced Graphics Adaptor which could show 16 colors in 1984.
Though CRT’s were still used more because the monitors by IBM were too expensive.
