Mangrove killifish (Kryptolebias marmoratus): does behavior influence size? Description Hemaphrodite: Individuals which have both Sex organs present The mangrove killifish (Kryptolebias marmoratus) is the only vertebrate animal able to undergo internal self fertilization and have viable offspring (Rhee et al 2010). Mangrove killifish (Kryptolebias marmoratus): does behavior influence size? Suitability to the study The Fish to be used Although they are the same age they are different sizes Also have different levels of “Bravery” or “Adventurism” Objective Mangrove Killifish (Kryptolebias Marmoratus): does behaviour influence size? 23/02/2011 Krish Lewis

4 Key Observations Research question:
Mangrove killifish (Kryptolebias marmoratus): does behavior influence size? Research question: Shyer fish forage food less readily, thus have slower growth rate Hypothesis: The larger the fish the more willing it would be to move into open water in order to feed.
