1. 2/2 - Newspaper Step 1 – Silent Read
To begin this process begin with a simple basic read through. Nothing more
Step 2 – With a highlighter or colored pencil locate words that are used as expressive language. Focus on single words at first. Nouns, verbs or adjectives that are used to create a sentiment.
If a word is used that you are not 100% knowledgeable of, Google it and understand it.

2. Step 3 – Using a different color than what you used in Step 2, now highlight full sentence(s) that appear to be opinionated or argumentative. Look for ideas that seem to pressure the reader to agree to change a way of thinking.
Step 4 – Using the margins or the back side of the article articulate the opinions you are perceiving from the highlighted sections from Step 3. Explain what you think the author is thinking, feeling or attempting to get their audience to think or feel. What are the opinion(s) of the author
