become more familiar with Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Presentations, and Google Sheets. use Offliberty.com to convert and download a Youtube video. create an account in Draggo for web page bookmarking. utilize Pixlr to modify a given picture and save to it to their Google Drive. become familiar with Twitter through a brief online overview.

Track Attendance Bring the sign-in sheet to the 21st century. Have students check in via Sheets (where revision history reveals all!)

Track Assignments and Grades
Tired of students asking for grades? Create a Sheet to track assignments. Assign students anonymous numbers and they will know where they stand without having to ask you!

Presentations for Lectures or Talks
Have students create Google Presentations for end of year project time to go more smoothly. Streamline the presentations with a shared deck of slides and share the deck with class at the end.

Create a shared folder for all your colleagues so everyone has access to the same documents from everywhere.

Accessing Google Drive

Step 1: Go to the South Alabama website by typing in the url:
Have the participants log into their accounts and access Google Drive so that they can drag this .ppt into a Google Drive folder that we will create in this workshop. Step 2: Click on Google Apps for Education with your mouse.

Step 3: Click “Faculty/Staff Login”

Step 6: Create a folder to share with your students or colleagues by clicking create and then folder.

Step 7: Now you can click “Share” from the folder you wish to share to your students or colleagues.

You can attach documents from your Google Drive right into your JagMail!

Shared Calendar Shared Calendars for your class, department, committee, or TAs. Tip: use different colors for multiple calendars or color-code specific events!

Utilize Draggo to store all your bookmarks in one location! It is compatible with Google Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

Create your own Draggo account by filling in the required information.

Once you create a free account in Draggo, you can save and organize your bookmarks all in one convenient place.

In order to bookmark a webpage using Draggo, first drag the button to the toolbar as instructed.

Save this webpage by clicking the “Save to Draggo” button on your toolbar. Then click save to “bookmark” it to your account. You can organize your bookmarks at any time.

Go to www.draggo.com and organize your web pages into categories.

Utilize Pixlr to a photo editor similar to Photoshop.

Browse the computer for the folder on your desktop labeled “Emerging Technology”

Click on “Desktop” to locate the “Emerging Technology” folder.

Click on the map of Spain and then click open.

Now you can modify the picture in various ways …Let’s try to add a border.

You may select the border that most appeals to you.

You may also type text over your picture for enhancement.

Finally, save your work on the desktop and then move it to your Google Drive for access later.

You may want to rename your picture so that it saves as a separate picture.

For review, let’s try to move these pictures over to your Google Drive.
