Employees 28,000 Sales $6.1 Billion Assets $3.7 Billion
The Big Picture Employees ,000 Sales $6.1 Billion Assets $3.7 Billion
3
History of Ownership Montebello is North America’s leading manufacturer of quality aluminum and laminated tubes for the pharmaceutical, industrial and cosmetic industries. In April 17, 1952 It was Founded by Stuerm family of Switzerland in Montebello, Quebec

Hawkesbury, Ontario Plant
5
Quality Assurance / Control
All tubes produced at Montebello are manufactured in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices The tubes have DMF No.9025 with 21 CFR Part compliant We understand your concern for Regulatory Documents The Dia as small as ½” to 1 ½” is produced

Montebello’s Capacity
ALUMINUM 15 High Speed Lines 480 Million tubes per year Hawkesbury, Lebanon, Virginia LAMINATE 5 Production lines 300 million tubes/year Lachine plant AEROSOL CANS 1 production line 20 million cans/year 1” up to 1 ½”

PROCESS FLOW OF LAMINATE TUBES
Blank laminate is loaded onto the printer Laminate is printed and slit Printed Laminate is loaded where it is indexed, trimmed, wrapped & seamed Sleeves travel to the mandrel Neck & Shoulder are attached to the sleeve Now it takes the complete shape of the tube Tubes travel to the mondrel, where top seal is applied. Then the Cap is fixed. It further goes for Final Inspection. And then the Packing takes place.

ADVANTAGES OF LAMI TUBES
PROTECTIVE, BARRIER PROPERTIES NON –TOXIC AND HYGIENIC ELEGANT AND ATTRACTIVE PRINTABILITY LEAKPROOF WRINKLE RESISTANCE USER CONVENIENCE SQUEEZABLE Tubes remain flexible, soft and smooth at any stage of use Enhanced shelf appeal Consistent quality and performance Wide range of caps - fez/flower can be used Pin hole orifice for low viscosity products , added feature
14
PROCESS FLOW OF ALUMINUM TUBES
Slugs are brought to tumbler, for tumbling Slugs are loaded into hopper Slugs are extruded into tubes Tubes are now transferred to mandrel, where the open and neck ends are trimmed. Further, they are transferred to high temperature zone for annealing. After annealing takes place, they are brought to the cooling zone. Then they are further taken to lacquer station, where interior is coated with lacquer. Then they are taken for external coating. Further, they are transferred to priniting mandrel, where printing takes place.
15
Montebello is continuing to develop its aerosolan market
After going through the drying oven for drying of printing, it is taken for cap application. Tubes are capped. Then they are transferred to apply crimping sealant. And now the final inspection stage takes place. Tubes are inspected and moved for packaging Montebello is continuing to develop its aerosolan market From small To BIG

LACQUER APPLICATION A Closer Look Open Tube Sealed Tube
17
CLOSURES ARE ALSO CALLED AS CAP
The Cap is the last component of the tube. There is a wide variety available as shown in the pic. There is unique application of caps. Caps give increased safety for products packaged in tubes
18
IMPORTANT PARAMETERS TO BE KEPT IN MIND
The Product to be packed Capacity , i.e. quantity of product to be packed Diameter of the tube Length of the tube Whether tube is to be plain or printed Matter to be printed on external surface of the tubes
19
T A Q L The complete definition and classification of defects for
COLLAPSIBLE ALUMINUM & LAMINATE TUBES
20
AQLs (Acceptable Quality Levels)
The defects are classified into the following levels : Unacceptable – 0.00% Critical A – 0.25% Critical B – 0.65% Major – 1.00% Minor – 4.00%
