CO1 : Ability to analyze small-signal and frequency performance of basic amplifier configurations (BJT and FET) and categorize different types of power amplifiers (C4, P3) CO2 : Ability to design the basic circuit of amplifier (C5 P3, A3, TS/LS, CS)

CO3 : Ability to differentiate the feedback amplifier and design an oscillator (C5, P3) CO4 : Ability to explain the operation and analyze various types of filters (C4, P3) CO5 : Ability to describe the operation and design simple linear and non-linear voltage regulator circuits (C5, P3)

4 SYLLABUS EET205/4 – ANALOG ELECTRONICS
Review on BJT and FET Bias Circuits Transistor operation: BJT and FET; biasing circuits of BJT: base bias, emitter bias, voltage divider bias, collector feedback bias. BJT and FET – Small Signal Amplifiers Amplifier operation, characteristics, parameters, operational modes of BJT and FET amplifiers, frequency response of BJT and FET amplifiers using Hybrid- model and approximate Hybrid- model.

Op-amp parameters, differential and common-mode operation, op-amp basics, practical op-amp circuits, op-amp data sheet. 4. Op-Amp applications Constant-gain multiplier, voltage summing, voltage buffer, comparator, differentiator, integrator, controlled sources.

Feedback concepts, Feedback Connection Types, Practical Feedback Circuits, Feedback amplifier stability, phase and gain margins. 6. Oscillator The Oscillator, Feedback Oscillator Principles, Oscillator with RC Feedback Circuits, Oscillator with LC Feedback Circuit.

7 SYLLABUS EET205/4 – ANALOG ELECTRONICS 7. Active Filters
Basic Filter Responses, Filters Response Characteristics, Active Low-Pass Filters, Active High-Pass Filters, Active Band-Pass Filters, Active Stop-Pass Filters, Filter Response Measurements. 8. Voltage regulators Zener diode regulator, linear regulator, op-amp linear regulator, linear IC regulator, non-linear (switching) regulators.
