Dates to Remember What Are We Learning? Oct. 31st—Black/Orange day—NO costumes allowed at school. Nov. 2nd—Boxtop Collection Day Nov. 6th—Spirit Day—Twin Day; School Store Open; Variety Show 6pm Math – (1.OA.6) We will be working to subtract numbers through 10. We will collaborate to come up with some different strategies to help us subtract. We will also incorporate some word problem practice as well.(1.OA.1a) I can use addition within 20 to solve word problems. (1.OA.7) I can use my understanding of the equal sign to determine if a number sentence is true or false. ELA – (1.RI.2b) I can retell key details of a text. (1.RL.1a) I can answer questions about details in a story. (1.W.3c) I can write sequencing words to show the order of events. Science - (1.E.2.1) We will continue our investigation in to rocks. We will also do some investigations with a pumpkins and bats this week. PYP Night at CCE: IB-Parent Information Night Please join us on November 7th at 6pm in the Media Center. We will share with you all of the progress we have made so far this year and where we are headed next. We will also have some folks here to talk to you about an opportunity to host students as part of our cultural exchange program. Coming Soon--Disguise a Turkey Project: Information regarding a project where everyone has to disguise their turkey, in order for it to sneak off the turkey farm and escape from being Thanksgiving dinner will be sent soon! Please be on the lookout! Letterland: Unit Seven Students will learn a new way of sorting: by vowel sound. Digraph ch will be introduced and the spelling pair qu-. Our Spelling test on these words will be on Friday. Your child will only be tested on the list that they were placed on! Green Take Home Folders These folders are very important and should be emptied daily. Please do not remove any forms that are in the plastic sleeves in the center of the folder!
