New cells w/ ½ normal number of chromosomes (N-haploid). )…reduction division
New cells need to combine with another gamete before they’re fully functional.

Body cells (occurs in all organisms)

Involves duplication of chromosomes.
Results in two daughter cells-identical to parent cells!
New cells have normal number of chromosomes (2N-diploidNo pairing of homologs.
New cells fully functional.
