Literature Research: The research has been aimed at: the raw materials which might be used as potential materials for manufacturing of the piston assembly with detailed analysis of their properties, the technology for their processing into composites and final products. 2. Based on the target properties which are required by the designer a thorough investigation on existing fiber composites was also made. 3. Several types of fiber reinforced composites based on the chosen materials have been produced, and their basic mechanical properties nave been determined. 4. The samples produced were delivered to Plasma for testing coating possibilities. SUMMARY
