DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH EMOTIONAL HEALTH ▸ Ability to love and care for others /feelings ▸ Ability to show empathy towards others ▸ Able to cope with change ▸ Able to resolve conflict ▸ Stress management - coping skills ▸ Resiliency skills ▸ Factors affecting health that involve feelings (anger, sadness, anxiety)

DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH SOCIAL HEALTH ▸ Relates to relationships /interaction with others ▸ Self-confidence ▸ Network of family and friends ▸ Communicate assertively (effectively communicate opinions) ▸ Be tactful and respectful ▸ Manners ▸ Exclusion, acceptance

DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH PHYSICAL HEALTH ▸ Relates to the body ▸ Balanced diet (low fat, low sugar) ▸ Exercise regularly (~30min/day) ▸ No smoking/drugs ▸ Good hygiene ▸ Enough sleep and rest ▸ Good mobility ▸ Free from pain ▸ Resistance and absence of disease

DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH SPIRITUAL HEALTH ▸ Soul, the spirit of individual ▸ Relates to sense of purpose ▸ Sense of peace or self-acceptance ▸ A meaning to life ▸ Feelings of connectedness to others ▸ Faith in creator or higher power (comes back to belief/meaning to life/ purpose) ▸ Wellbeing more important that riches

DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH ▸ The year 11 course assumes that you have knowledge and understanding of these dimensions ▸ You will need to utilise these dimensions in order to generate a well rounded response when answering questions ▸ It is not enough to say "poor health" ▸ You must elaborate on any statement when you say that a person has poor health - specify which dimension would be most effected and use examples!
