Ellison Lake Fishout Sunday April 13th a group of IWFF fishermen met at the South End Tim Horton's and headed south to one of our favorite Pay-As-You-Go lakes for a day of fishing. Outing organizer Bernie Heinricks was joined by Bob Leverman, John Ellis, Bruce Richman, Jack Toomer, Doug Peterson, Ed Tremblay, Bill McColl, Frank Charmley, Sue Orr and Mike Orr. Everyone seemed to have a good time and lots of nice fish were caught. I heard rumors that a 12 pound fish was caught but with this crowd I would be sure and knock off at least the first 9 pounds. The weather turned out to be in our favor and more than a few beginning sunburns were in evidence. I also learned one very valuable lesson..... A home tied fly does NOT last forever......
2
Launching point for boats. To the left past the end of the dock is the small man-made island that is inhabited by the "bobber" fishermen.
3
Bill tied into a really nice fish seen here putting just the right amount of pressure on....
4
With the delicacy of a trained surgeon, Bill brought this beauty to the beach.
5
With just a bit more work on that technique, or maybe a larger landing net...... Nice One Bill !!
6
Nice 20" trout with a hair-lip. Looked like some bobber fisherman had torn the nose off this one....?
7
Jack took time out to show Bob how to catch the larger fish of this lake. Nice Fish!!
8
Bruce worked hard to get this "riser" to bite.
9
Now as long as the leader holds............
10
Finally to hand.......
