2. The Romanticism Movement Romanticism or the Romantic movement was a concept that included different art mediums; from music to painting to literature. Romanticism involved a great interest in nature, emphasis on individuality, and the rejection of established rules Romantic artists believed each person brings a unique view to the world

3. Breaking Away From Normality Romantic artists used emotion to guide their creative output Their works celebrated beauty and wonder of nature in the United States This idea contrasted with huge cities and corruption of nature that was typical of that time

4. Art Painting was the greatest achievement of Romanticism Painters like Turner and Constable increased the popularity of landscape painting to new heights by giving heroic overtones to natural scenes.

6. Music Romanticism artists tried to stay with the original ideas of Classical music Many artists used their home countries to inspire their music Most of the works of the time were programme, or music without words that told a story or depicted a scene

7. Architecture Many of the great architectural works of the time were picturesque Included asymmetrical plans, exotic designs, and effects that contrasted with nature Some architects emphasized ornamental and visual values. Sensitivity to materials, colors, textures, and simplicity of construction

8. Hudson River School Hudson River School was the first American school of landscape painting active from 1835-1870.
