Think about it… You will be sharing with someone in a few minutes. If you could be one Super hero, who would it be? If you could have one super power, what would it be? How would you use your new power for good?

Icebreaker: Find someone who… Has a first name that starts with the same letter as you and discuss: If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Icebreaker: Find someone who… Has the same eye color as you and discuss: If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Icebreaker: Find someone who… Has the same number of siblings as you and discuss: How would you use your new power for good?

What is CHARACTER? As a class, share characteristics or attributes that you think every hero should possess. After you have had time to share, are there any attributes you listed that arent really necessary? For example…beauty?

What does heroic mean to you? Do you think of daring acts of bravery? Strong leadership? Triumph over great odds? Outstanding achievements in sports or entertainment? (continued on next slide)

Heroism takes many forms, including these. There are as many ways to be heroic as there are individual lives. Ordinary people in ordinary circumstances perform countless acts of courage and sacrifice in everyday life. You probably know several people that have been heroes in your community or even in your own life.

What is CHARACTER? Think of some everyday heroes. What qualities do you most admire most in them? As a class, decide on a list of the top 10 qualities.

What is character? Share your thoughts on the video… Who were you reminded of? Why? What does good character look like?

Challenge: Be heroic and exhibit good character! Report back heroic acts you have seen around the school to your advisory each morning!
