Travellers can:
Store traveller profiles
Prepare declaration in advance
Generate a QR code to scan securely at a PIK terminal

6. eDeclaration Process
Download the app onto your phone prior to departure
Declare individually or as a group
Answer questions about your trip and the nature of goods you are bringing into Canada
Review your declaration
Create a QR code
Upon arrival, scan your code at a kiosk and confirm your declaration
Present your receipt to a border services officer

Since March 2017, major Canadian airports have been using facial recognition software to speed and tighten security checks

10. Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA)
At a PIK terminal, a traveller does the following:
Has their photo taken
Scans their travel documents (typically a passport)
Answers questions on the screen
Declares goods they are bringing in, either by entering information at the kiosk or using the CanBorder eDeclaration mobile app which creates a QR code that can be scanned, shortening the time at the kiosk
Receives a printed receipt to be presented to a CSBA agent before leaving the customs check in area
