11 29 Jesus departed from there, skirted the Sea of Galilee, and
Matthew 15 29 Jesus departed from there, skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there.

12 30 Then great multitudes came to Him,
having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.

13 31 So the multitude marvelled when they saw the mute speaking,
the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

14 John MacArthur Jr.

15 “Salvation is first and foremost a way of glorifying God.
The fact that it saves men from hell and gives them eternal life, marvellous and wonderful as that is, is secondary to the glory of God.

16 [Jesus] glorified God during His earthly ministry, enabling Him
to say to His heavenly Father, ‘I glorified You on earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.’ ”

18 God Revealed Righteousness

19 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin.
Romans 3 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.

20 to demonstrate His righteousness, for He Himself is fair and just,
26…God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He Himself is fair and just, and He makes sinners right in His sight when they believe in Jesus.

21 God Revealed Righteousness Grace

22

23 JUSTICE – the penalty of sin is paid
It is on the cross of Christ that the supreme justice and grace of God the Father meet. c JUSTICE – the penalty of sin is paid GRACE – the payment is transferred to “all who believe”

24 Amazing grace! Oh, how sweet the sound
That saved a poor sinner like me! Though once I was lost Yet now I'm found Tho' I was blinded now I see!

25 Thro' disappointment and danger, too
Thro' labours and sorrows we've come! But God's grace was guided safely through; And it will surely lead us home!

26 We'll praise our Redeemer and King!
Then with the ransomed around God's throne We'll praise our Redeemer and King! We'll tell how His mercy for sin did atone, Through countless ages this song we'll sing!

27 It's all because of God's amazing grace! Because on Calvary's mountain
He took my place!

28 And someday, some glorious morning I shall see Him face to face,
All because of God's amazing grace!

30 No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law.
27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law.

31 28 So we are made right with God
It is based on faith.  28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

32 Where is the evidence? Love for God 25 Whom have I in heaven but You?
Psalm 73 25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth  that I desire besides You.

33 Where is the evidence? Repentance from sin
Matthew 6 24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

34 Where is the evidence? let him deny himself, Genuine humility
Matthew 16 24 Then Jesus said to His disciples,  “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

35 Where is the evidence? Priority to God’s glory Philippians 1 (NLT)
…I trust that my life will bring honour to Christ, whether I live or die.

36 Where is the evidence? Prayer 6 …because we are His children,
Galatians 4 (NLT) 6 …because we are His children, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”

37 Where is the evidence? Selfless love
1 John 3:14 (NLT) 14 If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead.

38 Where is the evidence? Separation from the world
1 John 5 (NLT)  4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.  5 And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

39 …build[ing] up the church, the body of Christ. 13…will continue
Where is the evidence? Spiritual growth Ephesians 4 (NLT) …build[ing] up the church, the body of Christ. 13…will continue

40 Where is the evidence? Spiritual growth
…until we all come to be… mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

41 Where is the evidence? Obedient living
Ephesians 2 (NLT) 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

42 God Revealed Righteousness Grace Global Sovereignty

43 29 After all, is God the God of the Jews only?
Isn’t He also the God of the Gentiles? Of course He is. 30 There is only one God, and He makes people right with Himself only by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles

44 God Revealed Righteousness Grace Global Sovereignty Legal Supremacy

45 31Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can
forget about the law?

46 Of course not!

47 The cross confirms the law:
It pays the penalty required by the law It leads us to Christ who reconciles us to God On our behalf, Christ fulfills the law

48 In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.
Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.

49 What Next? 3bSo God did what the law could not do.
Romans 8 3bSo God did what the law could not do. He sent His own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have

50 What Next? God declared an end to sin’s control And in that body
over us by giving His Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

51 What Next? 4 He did this so that the just requirement of the law
would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.

52 What Next?

53 What Next? 3 For this is the love of God,
1 John 5 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

54 4 For whatever is born of God that has overcome the world—our faith.
What Next? 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

55 5 Who is (s)he who overcomes the world, that Jesus is the Son of God?
What Next? 5 Who is (s)he who overcomes the world, but (s)he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

56 Faith Is The Victory 486

57 Encamped along the hills of light, Ye Christian soldiers, rise, And press the battle ere the night Shall veil the glowing skies.

58 Against the foe in vales below Let all our strength be hurled; Faith is the victory, we know, That overcomes the world.

59 Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory
Faith is the victory! Faith is the victory! Oh, glorious victory, That overcomes the world.

60 His banner over us is love, Our sword the Word of God; We tread the road the saints above With shouts of triumph trod.

61 By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath, Swept on o’er every field; The faith by which they conquered death Is still our shining shield.

62 On every hand the foe we find Drawn up in dread array; Let tents of ease be left behind, And onward to the fray.

63 Salvation’s helmet on each head, With truth all girt about, The earth shall tremble ’neath our tread, And echo with our shout.

64 To him that overcomes the foe, White raiment shall be giv’n; Before the angels he shall know His name confessed in heav’n.

65 Then onward from the hills of light, Our hearts with love aflame, We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night, In Jesus’ conqu’ring name.

66 Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory
Faith is the victory! Faith is the victory! Oh, glorious victory, That overcomes the world. REPEAT

69 “O Lord…may You be praised forever
1 Chronicles 29(NLT) “O Lord…may You be praised forever and ever! 11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours, O Lord…

70 and at Your discretion people are made great and given strength.
We adore You as the One who is over all things. 12 Wealth and honour come from You alone, for You rule over everything. Power and might are in Your hand, and at Your discretion people are made great and given strength.
