Fig 1 For LOS, there was a significant effect of both factors as well as a significant interaction effect. Newman-Keuls multiple comparisons revealed that the LOS was significantly longer (P<.05) in the patients seen before adding the dialysis tech. Fig 2 For efficiency, there was a significant effect of both the year of the study and the dialysis versus the nondialysis patient groups. In 2003–2004, the efficiency was significantly greater than the efficiency in the prior study in both the dialysis and nondialysis patients. Dialysis patients also showed less efficiency than nondialysis patients. The Newman-Keuls multiple range test revealed the 2003–2004 dialysis patients efficiency was higher than the 2001 dialysis patients efficiency (P=.041) and the 2003–2004 nondialysis patients efficiency was greater than the 2001 nondialysis patients efficiency (P=.016).
