Homework and Agenda Policy
Homework will be assigned daily as needed in all subjects Expect the homework to take around 40 minutes to an hour (at the most) Homework is extended practice of skills learned in school. It should be independent practice for the students but may occasionally require parent support. Please give the support as needed. Homework is due the next day, unless specifically stated. Students will be invited to study hall on any day that homework is not returned to school. Agendas should be signed by parents each night; they will include the homework for the day and upcoming tests and quizzes

Grades This year the students’ grades are based on a numerical grading scale with the subject’s final quarterly averages being represented by letter grades on the report card. Grades are now based on how well the students perform on the given assignment. Parents can view their child’s current grades anytime with Parent Vue (4th and 5th grade only) Math grades will only be listed as an average. Parents should contact the individual math teacher for grade specifics. Letter grades will be given on the report card for the following subjects: Reading, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Health Conduct and Study/Work Habits shall be evaluated as: S, NI, or U

Parents will be notified of behavior infractions with the agenda or the weekly behavior sheet. If the behavior persists on a given day, the student will walk the track at recess instead of having free play. Dojo points may be cashed in from time to time for various items on a menu (rent a pencil, buy a pencil, buy a snack, rent the rolling chair, lunch with a friend, etc.)
