6. 1. Our Predicament: Alienation
Our human condition
Gentiles were alienated from God’s people:
v.12 “excluded from citizenship in Israel and
foreigners to the covenants of the promise”
l. It was religious alienation
ll. It was cultural alienation
lll. It was racial alienation

7. Our spiritual condition
v.12 “separate from Christ … without hope and without God in the world” 
“Far away” (v.13) – separated from God and lost
We were without hope
We were without God (‘alienated from God’)

8. 2. God’s Provision: Reconciliation
“But now in Christ Jesus you have been brought near by the blood of Christ”
