Pediatric doses if there is no recommended dose for kids in the package then….. kids pharmacodynamics is different. 2 choices to do the math--will not be exactly same Youngs rule---- kid age/(kid age+12)x adult dose=kid dose Clarks rule--- (kid weight lbs/150) x adult dose=kid dose

Pediatric doses kid weighs 40lbs and 5yo. adult dose of drug Z is 250mg. youngs rule--- (5/17) x 250mg=73.5mg drug Z clarks rule-- (40/150)x 250mg=66.7mg drug Z kids weighs 11.4kg and 2yo. adult dose is 125mg. 11.4kgx2.2=25.08lbs young---2/(2+12)x125mg=18mg clarks--(25/150)x125mg=21mg

Pediatric doses Cowlings rule: Age next bday/24 * adult dose=kid dose
Infants have Frieds rule--- Months/150 * adult dose= infant dose BSA for toddlers and infants—west nomogram Kid dose=BSA in m2 for kid/(1.7 is adult BSA) x adult dose
