TITLE MEANING The title of the short story is a proper name:Eveline.
It is a female name and it refears to the main character, and when I reading the title I expected to read a story with a protagonist that is a young lady. Eveline belongs to a collect of short stories, the name’s is Dubliners. It follows that Dublin becomes an extended metaphore, that is a symbol of pharalisis. In Joice’s opinion, Dubliners are generally people unable to take decisions,to act, that only think and make resolutions but never act. Eveline is the protagonist of the story and she represents a phase in life that coincides with adolecence.

Indirect speech:is a style of third-person narration. It reports the sentence of character using the reporting verbs. Free indirect speech:resembles indirect speech in shifting tenses and other references, but there is generally no reporting clause and it retains some features of direct speech (such as direct questions and vocatives). Direct speech: gives the exact words in the report, and in writing and print uses Quotation marks.
