1 Deuteronomy 26:16-19

2 Belief in God is Strange

3 Earthly Science promotes a Godless World.
Chaos consisting of explosions, blind chance and poor science is their source of the origin of man. The Bible has the answer to the Origin of all things In the beginning (time) God (force) created (action) the heavens (space) and the earth (matter). Genesis 1:1

4 True unbiased Science reveals the God of the Bible.
1. Design, true science, archeology and time all point to a creator. 2. How many times has a tornado or storm assembled a laptop?

5 Obedience & Righteous living is Strange

6 Do What You Want! 1 I said in my heart, “Come now, I will test you with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure”; but surely, this also was vanity. 2 I said of laughter— “Madness!”; and of mirth, “What does it accomplish?” 3 I searched in my heart how to gratify my flesh with wine, while guiding my heart with wisdom, and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was good for the sons of men to do under heaven all the days of their lives. 4 I made my works great, I built myself houses, and planted myself vineyards. 5 I made myself gardens and orchards, and I planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. 6 I made myself water pools from which to water the growing trees of the grove.

7 Do What You Want! 7 I acquired male and female servants, and had servants born in my house. Yes, I had greater possessions of herds and flocks than all who were in Jerusalem before me. 8 I also gathered for myself silver and gold and the special treasures of kings and of the provinces. I acquired male and female singers, the delights of the sons of men, and musical instruments of all kinds. 9 So I became great and excelled more than all who were before me in Jerusalem. Also my wisdom remained with me. 10 Whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, For my heart rejoiced in all my labor; And this was my reward from all my labor.

8 Do What You Want! 11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done And on the labor in which I had toiled; And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind. There was no profit under the sun. Ecclesiastes 2:1-11

9 God will bring everyone & everything into judgment
For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:14

10 Lessons for Us Today

11 Being “Strange” is not necessarily bad.
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. Mark 8:34-35

12 Being “Strange” is not necessarily bad.
16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”18 He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’

13 Being “Strange” is not necessarily bad.
19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions Matthew 19:16-21

14 The sinfulness of the World should seem “Strange” to the Christian.
7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ Philippians 3:7-8

15 Conclusion 1. We should not allow being looked up as being strange by the world as a deterrent to doing what is right and pleasing to God. 2. The Christian is part of a special group of people. A group of people who are NOT to be like the world.
