The year 2011 is the target year for the Census of Population, Housing and Dwellings in BiH
Official preparations started

3. Reference date, period and method of enumeration
Draft Census Law:
The Census should be conducted in the period from 1st to 15th April 2011, according to the situation as on 31st March at 24:00 hours (midnight) defined as the reference date of the Census

5. Ethnic-cultural charasteristics, cont.
The census forms and methodological instructions shall be printed three official languages in BiH
Respondents belonging to national minorities will have a possibility to have a look into specimens of the census forms in their mother tongue.

9. Pilot Census
By the Draft Census Law, the Pilot Census of population, households and dwellings was planned for April 2010.
A draft content of basic census forms (for persons, households and dwellings) and methodologic instruction for enumerators were prepared.

10. Data entry (OCR)
Design of the census forms is customized to OCR/ICR scanning technology
Training of employees from the ICT sectors of all the three statistical institutions started
A number of presentations on the OCR/ICR solution were held
Technical specification was prepared for the procurement of equipment and software licenses (IPA 2009)

11. Draft Census Law
Parliamentary Assembly of BiH did not adopt proposed Draft Law on Census of population, households and dwellings
Parliamentary group is set up to draft the new Law on Census of population, households and dwellings
