4 Tell me a little about yourself
Throughout the year, we will get to know each other very well. I LOVE getting a kick start on this by reading a little bit about you. Please free write about some information you think I should know about you. This can be in letter format (with a salutation and closing/signature), or it could just be a simple free write page. You will only have 10 minutes. Please address the following questions in your sample: Why AP? What motivated you to take AP Literature? Are you interested in taking the final AP exam? What types of literature (or genres) do you enjoy reading? Do you have any favorite authors or titles you would like to share? (I like to try to pick reading samples based on your interests when I can.) What are your plans after high school? What are some things I should know about you?

Notes are INVALUABLE resources to take with you. No sticky notes – just pencil to book

17 BooKS It is highly recommended that you purchase your own novels this year. Annotations directly in the book instead of sticky notes Bring notes/annotations to college with you

18 Your assignment tonight
You will draw a slip of paper with 2-3 terms on it Please do the following for EACH term: Have an understanding of the definition (this doesn’t mean just write definition – really know what it means!) Bring an example of the term in use This doesn’t mean use the word “simile” in a sentence – it means show a sentence that SHOWS a simile
