Embargo Act of 1807 – Prohibited America from trading with foreign nations.
The goal of the Embargo Act of 1807 – to keep us out of war with Britain and France by keeping American ships in American harbors. Banned U.S. ships to sail to any foreign port.
The outcome of the Embargo Act of 1807– It failed & hurt the American economy BAD!

Thomas Jefferson purchased Louisiana from France in 1803.
This land purchase doubled the size of the United States.
Supreme Court would set a precedence called Judicial Review (Chief Justice John Marshall)
