1 Sandpoint Strikers Club Development Plan

2 Mission Statement The Sandpoint Soccer Association is dedicated to providing quality recreational and competitive youth soccer programs that facilitate personal and athletic development for all players of all skill levels in a safe, positive, and supportive environment.

3 Goal of Club Develop young people for the challenges and opportunities of life thru the game of soccer Promote the “Love” of the game Encourage a sense of community and being part of something bigger than themselves

4 SSA Recreation League The most important program in SSA One Umbrella
Investment in the future Identification and invitation of players (and future coaches) for competitive program Offer coaching education to recreational coaches All Star game (U9) and BBQ SDP program expansion

6 Coaching Education Minimum Coaching Requirements
Winter coaching education with DOC and guest coaches Continued financial support of coaches Training more focused on coach development

7 Community Service and Club Unity
Striker night. High School and club players come together. BBQ/Potluck Celebrate soccer! Bonner Homeless Transitions (Blanket drive) - (Winter) “Blue Toe” Kick childhood Cancer Donate Uniforms and equipment to Uganda children via Soccer2Unite Long Bridge Run

Focus Creating a “Love for the game” and formation of U10 teams Training Twice a week training Group trains together as a pool League Play No League Play Mixed teams for weekly In-House Games Tournaments U9 only (U8 players added if necessary) Fall: POC (2nd weekend of September-Sandpoint ID) Spring: Hotshot tournament (2nd Weekend of May- CDA

10 U10 Teams (7v7) Focus Rosters Training League Play
Developing the entire group and maintaining numbers for future team formation at U11 (9v9) Rosters Maintain high rosters (10-12 players) Training Twice a week Group trains together as a pool League Play Mixed teams for league play Teams play in best league available

11 U10 Teams - Continued Tournaments (Mixed teams)
River City Challenge (mid-August) Spokane Valley POC tournament (2nd weekend of September) Sandpoint 5-A-Side (Spring) (2nd weekend of March) Spokane Three Blind Refs (1st weekend of June) Kalispell, MT Selected players play together as (Tournament) team Hotshot (Spring) April Friendlies with outside club teams (Spokane Shadow).

Maintaining numbers for U12 team formation (9v9) and beyond Rosters Maintain high rosters (12-14 players) If numbers and skill level are appropriate two teams may be formed Training Twice a week Train with their teams League Play Teams play in best league available Additional friendlies if necessary

One team, more competitive expectations Continued player development Roster: One team roster up to 22 players Training Two to Three times per week League Play Teams play in best league available If quality league (trapped age group) is not available, team will play as tournament team and fill in with friendlies

18 U15 Trapped Teams Focus Training One Team Roster up to 18 players
One team, more competitive expectations Continued player development Training Two to three times a week League Play Teams play in best league available. If quality league is not available, team will do tournaments only and fill in with friendlies Have to play in IYSA sanctioned league (state cup) if necessary Additional friendlies fill schedule during the spring season
