The contribution of steel industry in the US can be examined in three categories—economic, historical and political. Historical importance of the steel industry provided growth and changes to the United States.

Positives: Allowed world to have a new way of producing all kinds of things.
Buildings were able to last longer and were less expensive
Negatives: The steel industry production used lots of fossil fuel
Caused tremendous damage to the natural resources

6. Economic impacts Positives: It cost less money to make the steel
- The price to buy the steel dropped.
- Allowed steel to become the dominant material for large construction.

Negatives: Got replaced by the basic by the basic process in 1968
