About my team The Memphis red socks formed in the 1920s.
The team played in the negro national leagues. In 1937 the team became a written contract with new negro American league.

The team’s owner The team was owned by Dr .J.B martin and his brother Dr .B.B martin. The two brothers where dentist and J.B also worked in a drug store and funeral home.

The teams best year The red sock best year was 1923-1924 .
The red sock won at least 26 games The Memphis red socks never went to the play off because of there 32 games loss.

Hall of famers One of the Memphis hall of famer was verdell Mathis, he was the best pitcher in negro leagues in 1940 he was born in 1914 and died 1998. Mathis pitched in three east – west all star games. Verdell toured with Paige's all star versus bob fellers all-star in1946.

Hall of famers Waite Hoyt was the other hall of famer the Memphis red socks had he was born in 1899 and died in 1984. Hoyt was a right hand pitcher in major leagues baseball. Best pitcher for new York that decade. He was included in the hall of fame in 1969.

Best players Marlin carter, Neil Robinson, Larry brown. Marlin carter was an infielder who played in Neil Robinson was an left fielder and 3base his career was Larry brown was an pitcher for Memphis red socks.
