1 Way of life & Way of death

2 “And to this people you shall say, So says Jehovah, Behold, I set before you the Way of Life and the Way of Death.” Jer 21:8

3 This is the story And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt? Ex 14:10,11

4 3 challenges Pharaoh behind you, represents Satan….impossible to defeat Him on your own strength The mountain, represents the commandment…..very high, difficult to reach without God! The Red Sea, represents Death….full of tides, up and down, waves

5 The impossible to possible
Only through God, the Impossible is made Possible. God only works with the impossible. If it’s possible, human does it by themselves. If you try to fight with Pharaoh, your chance to win…50-50 If you try to climb the mountain, your chance to succeed…50-50 If you try to cross the Red Sea….your chance for Life: ZERO percent God chose the most difficult challenge to let the people know of Israel that God is working with them! “…and the sons of Israel went out with a high hand.” Ex 14:8

6 Why you Complain in trials
You do not understand God Your goal is not clear You do not know living in freedom You love to live life as a slave Forgot what God does with you You don’t want to struggle against the sin Lose hope to live with God Surrender to Satan

7 Promise of GOd “Do not be afraid. Stand still,
See the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” But lift up your rod, Stretch out your hand over the sea and Divide it.”

8 Rod => Cross The rod that Moses used, represent the cross! When God divided the Red Sea, He gave you a way of Life IN Death. He divided the Red Sea (death) to give you Life by the way of the Cross. “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:14,15

9 Presence of God in your life
The presence of God in your life will separate your life from the Sin. “And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.” Ex 14:19,20

10 THe Human Choice Let us use an example to explain the Human Choice to make the stuff for life, for death. Example: The scissors. The scissors can hurt someone by cutting them; or you can make a very nice dress with it. It is YOUR CHOICE. Example: When you make love into lust. Lust takes. Love gives. “So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.” Ex 14:22 God gives you the commandment as wall and gate to you in your way of Life.

11 Two walking in the same way
So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. Ex 14:30 The congregation of Israel has a life. The congregation of Egypt has death.

12 Why? “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death”
GOAL The goal of Israelites: to worship God; The goal of Pharaohs: for the Israelites to be slaves to Him; He died for that reason! LEADER The leader of Israelites: God The leader of Pharoah: Satan FAITH Israelites had Faith in God, and therefore the Red Sea opened and provided a way for Life Pharaoh followed them in the Red Sea, but with no faith, He is nothing but like the current, his ultimate destination is death.
