5. EDUCATION PERIOD Those Who Fail To Graduate At The End Of Maximum Education Period
Students, who fail to graduate within maximum period of education and have more than five courses to pass;
Are given additional exam right provided that the terms specified in IUE Regulation for Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination are met.
Additional period is given to those, who lower the number of unsuccessful courses to five at the end of additional exam right.

6. COURSE REGISTRATIONS Takes place at the beginning of each semester.
Registration dates are specified in the ACADEMIC CALENDAR published on IUE website.

8. COURSE REGISTRATION TERMS
(Regular Course Load)
The regular course load of a student for each semester is 30 ECTS credits
Repeated courses are counted as part of the regular course load.

9. COURSE REGISTRATION TERMS (Prerequisite Courses)
Students, who fail a prerequisite course, cannot register for the course consequent to that.
Courses with prerequisites are indicated in the curriculum of departments in “ECTS and TYYÇ Catalogue” published on IUE website.

10. Students are highly recommended to take failed courses (FD-FF-NA-W-U)

primarily or courses not taken even though they were supposed to be taken.

11. FOR REPEATED COURSES, THE MOST RECENT GRADE WILL BE VALID.
REPEATING A COURSE
Students who received DD-DC-CC-CB-BB-BA in any course, can repeat these courses to improve their grades.

12. SEMESTER AND CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGES (SEMESTER GPA/CGPA)
Semester GPA and CGPA are calculated based on the ECTS credits of the courses registered for and included in grade point averages. If this calculation is based on the courses taken for one semester, semester grade point average is obtained. If it is based on all the courses taken so far, cumulative grade point average is obtained.

13. CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE (CGPA)
Students, who obtain a CGPA of at least 2.00
and take at least 25 ECTS credit courses
in a semester, are considered successful.

14. CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE (CGPA)
At the end of first year;
Students, who obtain a CGPA of 1.50 and above, qualify to go to second year of their study.

15. CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE (CGPA)
At the end of second year;
Students, who obtain a CGPA of 1.70 and above, qualify to go to third year of their study.

16. CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE (CGPA)
At the end of third year;
Students, who obtain a CGPA of 1.80 and above, qualify to go to fourth year of their study.
However, a CGPA of at least 2,00 is required to graduate.

17. CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE (CGPA)
Students, who fail the meet the requirements specified, are considered UNSUCCESFUL, and they do not qualify enroll to upper year of study. Unsuccessful students, in order to obtain specified cumulative grade point averages, may take courses from current or lower grades they have not taken before, may re-take failed courses, or courses they want to get higher grades for.

18. COURSE REGISTRATION TERMS
Students, who obtain a CGPA of can take additional 6-ECTS credit courses, Students, who obtain a CGPA of can take additional 12-ECTS credit courses.

ATTENDANCE
Students are required to attend;
70% of the theoretical courses,
80% of the practical courses.
Students, who do not meet the attendance requirements, are not allowed to take the FINAL EXAM.
(They are given grade of NA.)

20. MEDICAL REPORTS
Students with medical reports are COUNTED ABSENT from courses.
A make-up exam will be given to students with medical report only during Finals.
Students, who have medical report for a period of more than 5 weeks in a semester, are counted on leave for that semester.

21. COURSE WITHDRAWAL Takes place at the 10th week of the semester.
Grade for that course withdrawn would be grade of W (Withdrawal) for that semester.
Grade of “W” is not included in the grade average.
However, students are recommended to take the course with grade of “W” in the first semester that course is offered.

22. COURSE WITHDRAWAL
Students are not allowed to withdraw from course/courses they have to
repeat, or
withdrew before.
Freshmen (including the ones who transferred) of undergraduate programs can only withdraw from free General Education Courses that are considered as elective courses in their instruction plans.

24. ERRORS ON GRADES
Objection to an exam score can be raised within three business days at the latest following the announcement date.
Objections can be made based on miscalculation only.

27. GRADUATION
Students, who can meet the following requirements, qualify to GRADUATE:
Taking and successfully completing all the courses anticipated in their program,
Successfully performing their internship,
Obtaining 240 ECTS in undergraduate programs,
Obtaining 120 ECTS in associate programs,
Obtaining a CGPA of at least 2.00.

28. DOUBLE MAJOR-MINOR PROGRAMS
Double Major Program Requirements:
Obtaining a CGPA of at least 3.00
Having passed all required courses successfully
Being in the 20% range in success rating
Minor Program Requirements:
Obtaining a CGPA of at least 2.50
