2019 Prom DHS’s Junior-Senior Prom will be held on April 26, 2019 at the Georgia Aquarium Oceans Ballroom Tickets are on sale for $100 until September 30, 2018 Tickets General Sale is October 1 – December 31, 2018 for $120 Final Sale of tickets is January 1, 2019 – February 28, for $130 Tickets will be issued on Friday, April 26, 2019

Emory University An admission representative for Emory University will conduct ta small group session for interested students on Monday October 29th at 1:30pm in the counseling office. This is a great opportunity to earn the necessary steps and criteria for admission Sign up for the session is in the counseling office Slots are limited

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVB)
DHS counseling department will administer the ASVB exam on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 9am-12pm Students interested in military careers or to gain insight into career possibilities are encouraged to sign up 10th-12th grade students are able to sign up in the counseling office Only 65 slots are available

The Helen Ruffing Reading Bowl
The reading bowl will meet on Tuesdays at 3:30pm in the library

If you are interested in performing African dance for the International Festival, please meet with Ms. Raji in room T-10

Leukemia and Lymphoma Fundraiser
The National Honor Society is conducting a fundraiser for Leukemia and Lymphoma patients Please donate by placing loose coins in your teachers Pennies for Patients Box located in your classrooms Donations will be received the entire month and the winning homeroom will receive a lunch from Olive Garden Restaurant

Printing from Chromebooks
Students are only able to print from their Chromebooks at this time Students will need to deposit a minimum of $1 to set up a printing account Any questions, please see M. Daniels in the library

Gordon State College’s (GSC) On-Site Admission Day!
On November 8, 2018, GSC representatives will be at Dutchtown High School to accept students on the spot! Must have tests scores and transcript to apply See Mrs. Montgomery for information

Are You Interested in becoming a Peer Mediator ?
There will be an Informational & General Body Meeting On Wednesday November 7th from 3:30pm-4:00pm in room 324 Mrs. S. Williams, school social worker The goals of the Peer Mediation Team are: To aid students with resolving disputes between two or more students with the goal of preventing the need of administration from becoming involved in simple disputes among students. To reduce office/behavioral referrals To create and promote activities that will make Dutchtown High School a safe and welcoming environment of inclusion and reduce bias, bullying, and give an appreciation for diversity.

Pre-American College Testing (PreACT)
The PreACT will be administered on November 1st The state covers the cost of the test for all sophomores 9th& 11th grade students who are interested in taking the test are also able to do so by registering with Dr. Powell by October 29th Cost is $12
