Young Stalin Stalin was born on December 18, 1878 as Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili in the village of Gori he was the son of a peasant washer woman and cobbler At age 7, he contracted smallpox, leaving his face scarred and his left arm slightly deformed.

Beginning of the man of steel As a young man Stalin was enrolled in the Tiflis Theological Seminary A year later, Joseph came in contact with Messame Dassy, a secret organization that supported Georgian independence from Russia.

Followers In 1901, he joined the Social Democratic Labor Party and worked full time for the revolutionary movement After the defeat of Tsar Nicholas II and the death of Vladimir Lenin, Stalin became the Absolute ruler of Russia and led the Bolshevik party

The Rule of Stalin Stalin ruled the U.S.S.R. from 1926-1953 because after his rise to power he did not give anyone the chance to go against him by either having them killed or sent to gulags

How did Stalins background affect him After being scarred from smallpox the other village children treated him cruelly, instilling in him a sense of inferiority. Because of this, Joseph began a quest for greatness and respect. He also developed a cruel streak for those who crossed him.

The end of Stalin Stalins rule ended on March 5, 1953 because of his death
