September Meeting 6th and 7th 7:10am or 3:15pm

If you didn't... TURN IN DUES: make sure you get those in ASAP! We will be noting that they were late but it's better late than never. If you do not turn in dues, be expecting an or letter to be sent to your parents notifying them that you have not yet paid them. MAKE IT TO THE LAST MEETING: make sure to be attending every other one. Know this is an opportunity, not right. We are trying to help you by scheduling meetings four times a week. National Honor Society is a commitment. We are being more strict about attendance this year and are keeping an eye on everyone! Here's a quick recap of the last meeting... 10 service hours are due December 11th for this new hour period. If you didn't turn in the full 10 hours from the last deadline, you can redeem yourself by making up the hours you didn't get done plus the 10 that are due. No exceptions for this due date!! If you cannot attend a meeting, you must communicate with an officer or teacher face to face/via BEFORE the meeting dates arrive. No more telling us after the fact. Keep the "Honor" in National Honor Society by being truthful and a true role model both inside and outside of the school. Turning in falsified hours is an automatic release from the club. Plus that's just unnecessary when we're requiring an hour every month of volunteer hours from us. At the very least just come to every day and get your ten that way. We will be requiring you to attend at least an hour of the NHS sponsored volunteer opportunity every month. We will also be hosting monthly get-togethers that we highly recommend you attend.

September's Volunteer Opportunities
The Humane Society is hosting a Walk for Animals on Sunday, September 24th and asked us if we would be available to do teardown afterwards! It will be from 2pm – 4pm that day at the Humane Society on 90th and Fort. They need 20 volunteers who would be willing to help. We will figure our carpooling once we know who is volunteering. (It will involve physical activity but it's nothing us Bulldogs can't handle!) This opportunity is now full. If you would like to be on a waiting list of for the next "like" volunteer opportunity, you may sign up in the back. Despite this, you are required to sign up for a dog toy making day! If you can't make it to the teardown of the walk, we will be making dog toys to donate to local shelters, clinics, etc. the week before that/ after homecoming! Those dates will be: Monday September 18th Tuesday September 19th Wednesday September 20th ^These toy days will go from 3:10-4:10pm directly after school. Sign up for the one you would like to attend to in the back! Remember: An hour of our NHS sponsored activities are required. These hours and others will help contribute to your 10 hour requirement that's due December 11th. Communicate before hand if scheduling one of these days is difficult for you.
