2 Maryville High School requires 27 credit to graduate
Maryville High School requires 27 credit to graduate. Students have the opportunity to earn 31 credits. Students are required to earn a ½ credit of PE and one credit of Lifetime Wellness. These are not the same class.

6 Dates to Remember: January 17: Rising 10th Grade Open House at MHS January 18 – February 1: MJHS counselors onsite at CGIS and MRIS for 8th grade advising January 22-23: MHS counselors onsite at MJHS to advise rising 10th grade students January 28: Registration letters mailed home from MJHS January 29 – 30: Rising 10th grade onsite registration at MJHS February 1: MJHS Parent to Parent online registration information and registration session February 2 - March 1: 10th grade online registration open February 11 – 20: 8th and 9th grade online registration open February 11: Rising 9th grade open house February 12: Rising 8th grade open house March 4 – 10: Online changes for electives – 8th & 9th grade March 27 – April 10: Review for change of placement requests August 1 – Sneak Peak Open House for rising 8th and 9th grade Schedules will be mailed home before the first day of school

Early Post-Secondary Opportunities (EPso) Portfolio Prepare all students for success in an ever-changing world; Every student should be identified as a “Ready Graduate” IC – Industry Certification EMR – Emergency Medical Responder CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant OSHA 10 Certified Solidworks Associate NCCER – National Center for Construction Education & Research Core Curriculum ServSafe Food Manager MOS – Microsoft Office Specialist IT – Comp TIA Fundamentals, TIA A+, TIA Network+ Hootsuite Platform CIW Web Design Specialist – Certified Internet Webmaster AP – Advanced Placement DE – Dual Enrollment LDC – Local Dual Credit SDC – Statewide Dual Credit CLEP – College Level Exam Program AP is tied to course work – AP test is linked to AP coursework; College Board DE – dually enrolled in college and high school classes LDC – MHS instructed course, but students can take a challenge exam at the conclusion of the class to qualify for PSCC credit. SDC – Sit through the MHS course, challenge exam in order to qualify for credit at the TBR: 13 community colleges and 27 TCATs. SDC goes farther for students, but MHS does not currently offer as many courses for students. CLEP – College Board product; not tied to current coursework – any one can take the exam to potentially qualify for collegiate level course credit – colleges determine which CLEP tests they will accept and for what credit as well. Industry Certification – hundreds available, but the state of TN recognizes for college readiness – ready graduate General information but the Course Catalogue will further discuss each EPSO
