Literature Circles Preparation
Everyone at your table has the same role. You will have 30 minutes to read today’s passage (pgs ) and prepare for the literature circle. If you finish your part, you can also fulfill the Illustrator role by doing the following: On the back of your paper, draw some kind of a picture related to what you read in your section. It can be a sketch, cartoon, diagram, or stick figure scene. It can be about something that you read, something that the reading reminded you about, or an element of the story (plot, character, setting).

Literature Circles Sharing
The Discussion Director will begin by asking his/her questions and each member of the circle will share his/her response. Then, the connector shares his/her piece. Then, the Literary Luminary goes. Then, the Vocabulary Enricher shares. Last, share and discuss any illustrations. When all is done, each person individually should write a claim-cite-clarify about the tone of this piece. (What is the tone? How is it created? How does it relate to the theme?) a brief statement about the “coolest” thing you learned from this text
7
Whole Group Sharing Each table will share 1 thing from your discussion today.
