4. Router Configuration (1)
First thing should be able to deal with is how to configure router .
You can Follow this step to configure router .
Note : you can change router configuration among use CLI (command line interface) by click on router then chose CLI .

To change custom Router configuration insert “no” then press “enter” while if not the router stayed have the default configuration .
Press “enter” to start change configuration.
While the tap is “Router>” then you are in privilege EXEC mod .
Insert “enable” to add privilege to router , then it should be like this “Router#” .
Insert “config t” Press “enter”.

7. Set password
To protect your configuration insert “enable secret class” then press “enter” .
Then insert “line con 0” press “enter”.
Then insert “password cisco” to promote cisco to confirm configuration security press “enter”.
Then insert “login” press “enter”.
Then insert “exit” press “enter”.

8. Router name
To change the name of router we use the following command :
Router #
Router #configure terminal // or config t
Router (config)#hostname lab509
lab509(config)#

9. IP address // identify interface that connect on router
Then insert “interface FastEthernet 0/0” press “enter”.
Then insert
“ip address ” press “enter”.

10. IP address Then insert “no shutdown” press “enter”.
Then insert “description Router0 FastEthernet 0/0” press “enter”.
Then insert “no shutdown” press “enter”.
Then insert “exit” press “enter”.
Note : repeat the same config for FastEthernet 0/1 interface but change the ip address to

11. Cont Then insert “exit” press “enter”.
Then insert “show running-config” press “enter” // you can see your new router configuration among this command , while you press “enter” .
Then insert “copy running-config startup-config ” press “enter”.//to start up your new configuration.

12. Identify PC IP Address
to identify IP address for pc do the following step:
Click on pc
Go to config
Then insert the ( FastEthernet 0/0 Ip) as gatway for this pc0 .
Then go to FastEthernet0 and insert the IP address
and mask .//for example mask already will be defined.
