A suite of Mayoral strategies sit under The London Plan – the overarching Mayoral strategy
The Mayor’s Transport Strategy (MTS) is most important for us as it sets out the Mayor’s transport vision for London.
It is a statutory document that establishes the policy basis for interventions over the short, medium & long term.
All the strategies under the London Plan have to be aligned to ensure they work towards the same overarching objectives.
• Suite of Mayoral strategies that sit under The London Plan - the overarching Mayoral strategy
• Most important one for us is the Mayor’s Transport Strategy, which sets out the Mayor’s transport vision for London.
• It is a statutory document that establishes the policy basis for interventions over the short, medium & long term.
• It was last revised in 2010 and established policies up to As the Mayor’s functional body for transport – we at TfL take the lead in preparing revisions to the MTS
• The MTS has to align with all of the other strategies under the London Plan including the Mayor’s Economic Development Strategy for London, the Mayor’s Environment Strategy and the Housing Strategy.
