American Society for Testing and Materials International Database What is ASTM International database : - Its a globally recognized leader in the development and delivery of international standards that contains a vast collection of standards and technical engineering information which covers a broad range of engineering disciplines including aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, environmental, geological, health and safety, industrial, materials science, mechanical, petroleum, soil science, and solar engineering.

History of the Database - ASTM, started in 1898 by chemists and engineers from Pennsylvania U.S. before other standards organizations such as BSI (1901), DIN (1917), ANSI (1918) and AFNOR (1926). - Formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). - In 2001,the Society became known as ASTM International.

ASTM International Overview - It welcomes and encourages participation from around the world in the development of its standards. - It offers technical training programs for industry and government, as well as proficiency testing. - It is developed in accordance with the guiding principles of the World Trade Organization. - It is the tools of customer satisfaction and competitiveness for companies across a wide range of markets.
