Joseph Forgave His Brothers

The lessons from this: 1. Husbands and wives must forgive. 2. Parents and children must forgive. 3. People in the Christian community must forgive.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Matthew 6:32

But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, Romans 2:5

Lessons for us today.

Forgiveness Heals 1. Forgiveness can heal broken homes.
2. Forgiveness binds things that are close to breaking and when coupled with love it can mend what has been broken. 3. God shows us His love by forgiving us, we ought to forgive also. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

God can stop the hurt caused by sin
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

Conclusion 1. Forgiveness and love rebuilds bridges they may have been burned previously. 2. Forgiveness opens hearts while being unforgiving and bitter only builds walls. 3. Christ keeps it simple. If you want to be forgiven you must forgive.
