4 Mulatto A person of mixed ancestry; european, african & native, in Latin America

5 Toussaint L’Overture Was the leader of the Haitian Revolution. His military genius and political acumen transformed an entire society of slaves into the independent black state of Haiti

6 Yellow Fever Yellow fever is a potentially fatal viral infection that's transmitted by mosquitoes in tropical regions. Named because the user becomes jaundiced, yellowish, in color

7 Latin America Is a region of the Americas where Romance languages (i.e., those derived from Latin) or a subset of the Romance language family – always including Spanish and Portuguese, and sometimes including French – are primarily spoken

8 Simon Bolivar Was a military and political leader. Bolívar played a key role in Latin America's successful struggle for independence from the Spanish Empire, and is today considered one of the most influential politicians in the history of the Americas.

9 Junta A military or political group that rules a country after taking power by force. WIll be commonly used in Latin America after independence.
