Where are we with the CSS PHY ?
May 2005 Where are we with the CSS PHY ? We have a merged proposal (0126r01) which promises very good performance on long distance, robustness, mobility and power consumption We have a rough draft text for the chirp radio (285r00) which contains many blanks an has a preliminary outline From 285r00 we have presented the subchirp signals and sequences in time and frequency domain Hach, Nanotron

May 2005 What has to be done next ? Harmonize the outline of the draft document between UWB and CSS Clearify how to realize the low data rate A) Use different bit to symbol mapping (Reduction of biorthogonal code set) B) Use FEC Define PHY frame structure SHR (Synchronization header consisting of preambel and SFD) PHR (Phy Header) Investigate the usage of overlapping frequency bands for SOP operation (analysis and/or simulations) Define the usage of the 4 subchirp sequences which are available for code devision Evaluate the coexistence behaviour (analysis and/or simulations) Hach, Nanotron
