2. Main features of HaBiDeS+
a reporting tool hosted by EIONET (EEA), freely accessible through the Internet; no login or password requirement; works will all main browsers
derogation reports are created on-line, but must then be saved and stored off-line (as .xml files)
reporting tool includes functionalities for creating, editing, sorting, searching & deleting individual derogation reports; as well as for merging several derogation files into one file.
the tool can be used by local reporters as well as by regional/national reporters for aggregation
the national report must still be submitted via Reportnet

3. Next steps
Short term:
Testing by the Member States – feedback can be used to improve the tool
Medium terms:
Other language versions available
Development of an EU-wide search tool for the public to search and access information about derogations issued per species, regions, type of derogation, etc.
