Prince Henry never journeyed to sea! He only organized expeditions of sailors to explore West Africa In 1416, he founded the School of Navigation in Portugal

6 NEW PAGE!! Astronomers, geographers, mathematicians studied new methods of traveling by sea. Trips were planned using new maps and tools and information about wind currents in the Atlantic Ocean
