Dwayne Johnson Economics Period 2 August 1, 2016 Topic: Supply and Demand (Heading) Essential Question: How do consumers decide what to buy? What is the law of demand? How does the law of demand relate to price elasticity? The law of demand states that as the price of a product increases, the quantity demanded decreases. As price decreases, the quantity demanded increases. Price elasticity of demand is a measure of consumers’ responsiveness to price changes. Understanding price elasticity of demands helps see more fully how businesses make pricing decisions, and what governments must consider as they make decisions about taxing a particular product. (Notes taken during lecture) (Questions) The characteristics of products determines price elasticity of demand, which impacts changes in total revenue that determine elasticity. This directly affects public policy and business decisions. (Summary)

6 Why Use Cornell notes? By day 2, if you do not think about or review your notes, you will lose percent of what you learned. By day 30, if you do not think about or review your notes, you remember only 2-3 percent of what you learned on day one.
