2 COMMITTEES a committee may approve, rewrite or kill the bill

3 DEBATE In each house, the bill is debated and members vote on their version of the bill.

4 ONE VERSION House and Senate members get together to hammer out one common bill.

5 FINAL VOTE Both houses vote separately on the bill.

PRESIDENT OK’s or VETO’s
6 President can sign the bill or veto (cancel) it. Barack Obama 44th President

VETO OVERRIDE 7 If President vetoes the bill it can still pass with 2/3 of Congress vote 2 3
