1. Weight of a car vs mpg
This regression project studies whether or not there is a relationship between the weight of a vehicle and its mpg rating.
I only got 20 data points because I didn’t fully read the rubric.

4. Interpolated/extrapolated data
The exponential regression equation was y = e-0.289x. I interpolated the weights x = 4.36 and x = 3.14 and got mpg ratings of and respectively. This compares to a mpg rating of 16.9 for x = 4.36 and 19.5 for x = 3.14, which is not too far off. I extrapolated the values x = .5, which is about the weight of a small motorcycle, and x = 100, which is about the weight of a tank and got the values mpg for the motorcycle and 1.47 mpg for the tank.

5. What I learned
I learned there does exist a relationship between the weight of a vehicle and its mpg. It is an exponential function in which the mpg decreases as the weight of the vehicle increases. This information can be used to try to improve the mpg rating in vehicles by convincing manufacturers to pursue lighter building materials to construct the vehicles with.
