What does a Construction Contractor Have to do to Work for a Federal Agency? Presented By: April 29, 2010

Step 1 For Federal Government Vendor Registration, you will need to obtain a "D&B" number – to do so visit https://www.dnb.com. https://www.dnb.com Step 2 Once you have your D&B number (takes approximately 24 – 48 hours), register yourself in the Central Contractor Registry as a bidder. You can do this at http://www.ccr.gov. http://www.ccr.gov You will need your gross revenue figures for the last 3 years, Employer ID / Social Security #, and the D&B number to complete the registration process.

Step 3 Register in ORCA Step 4 If you are a small, minority-owned, veteran-owned, woman-owned business, or are located in a Historically Under-Utilized Business Zone (HUBZone), complete a small/disadvantaged business self-certification at http://www.sba.gov.http://www.sba.gov

Step 4 Register with the federal government and/or appropriate state/locality you wish to do business with. Federal Government – https://www.FBO.govhttps://www.FBO.gov Florida – https://vendor.myfloridamarketplace.comhttps://vendor.myfloridamarketplace.com Locality – Visit your local county website.

1. Correspondence Must be identified by a serial number Correspondence initiated by the Contractors site office needs to be prefixed with the letter S Correspondence initiated by the Contractors home office needs to be prefixed with the letter H Should be addressed to the Administrative CO If addressed to CO directly, furnish copy to the Administrative CO Must reference contract number Submit Original and 3 copies

2. Insurance Prime Contractor A representative of the prime contractor must be on the jobsite during all working hours Prior to commencement of work contractor must, by letter, inform ACO if project is personally supervised or will be supervised by superintendent Prior to commencement of work contractor must provide evidence of General Liability and Automobile Insurance, Workmens Compensation or Employers Liability Insurance
