2 Vocabulary Background
When students graduate from high school their vocabulary is around 25,000 words. Students vocabulary grows about 3000 words a year. However, if you teach your students words a week then at the end of the school year you will have taught 555 words.

8 Talk a Mile a Minute Create teams of 2-3
One person is designated the “Talker” and the other the “Receiver” The “Talker” will give clues to each of the words on the list without saying the word The “Receiver” tries to guess the words on the list by the clues

13 Name that Category Provides opportunities for students to focus on attributes of concepts or terms presented. One person is the clue giver- can see the game board The others are the guessers- keep their backs to the board or screen Goal: The clue giver will list words that fit into a category until the guessers correctly identify the correct category.
