4. How does the Academic Exchange Program compare to the J-1 Exchange?
Guaranteed Placements! Students accepted to the program will ALWAYS be placed with a Host Family. Academic Strength. Since it is an F-1 program, students take a full course load, can earn academic credit and even earn a diploma in grade 12. More Flexible! We can accept students who are 14 or 18; who have allergies or managed medical conditions. Choice! The Academic Exchange program is easy for you and your students. We accept late applications – until June for Autumn 2019 intake! Flexible Entry Requirements for all students: 2.0 GPA Ages SLEP 45, IELTS 5, TOEFL IBT 64 or ELTiS 205 (slightly higher for January semester entry) We consider students with allergies and minor medical conditions – pets, diabetes, mild dyslexia, vegetarian

We guarantee placements. Your students can trust they will receive their Host Family placement! Our Academic Exchange Program is CSIET listed, meeting the rigorous standards of CSIET for school placements, host family screen and ongoing support.

11. Academic Exchange Summary
A low cost, F-1 Academic Day School Program – students can earn a diploma in grade 12. Or continue studying for more than 1 year. Schools are located in smaller, safe communities. Students will be placed in double placements. Their roommate will always speak a different mother language. Student placements are 100% guaranteed. A student accepted in the program will ALWAYS be placed. A great option for students who have completed a J-1 program and want to stay in the USA on an F-1 program for a lower price!

12. 2nd Year - What Happens Next?
Many students who participate in 1 year of the Academic Exchange Program want to continue after their year. So what are the options? If the student has studied 1 year in a Public School, they must change to a different and Private School (due to US Visa restrictions limiting public high school to 1 year). Students should let you/us know that they would like to re-apply to the AX program and we can use their same application to submit to a new Academic Exchange Private School. If they have studied 1 year in a Private School, the can continue at that same school, and we offer a 2nd year price increase guarantee of $5,000. Since we have negotiated very inexpensive tuition with Private schools, in some cases $10,000 lower than their regular tuition, the price must increase the 2nd year a student attends the schools. We limit the price increase to a guaranteed $5,000 over the first year price. Since schools have limited spaces, please let us know early if a student wishes to re-enroll in the same Private School.

A great option for students from most countries (not available to all nationalities) who want to experience the elite of the American education system for a low price.
No choice program, students are placed in schools in our regular boarding portfolio where there is a great fit between the student and the school.
Students should be good students, achieving an ELTiS score of 215 and willing to be active in events and activities on campus.
