1 Task Force Recommendation - Conduct Reappts and Promotions on Time
This has been our highest priority and has taken the largest investment of time and energy. Combination of close, focused oversight by OAA and increased efficiency of FAAs is slowly starting to pay dividends. Some necessary extensions – such as New Parent Extensions and those for clinical overloads – are not included. What’s working: Letter to candidate launching the review one year in advance of appointment end date. 30 letters sent out since August. Development and communication of month-by-month timelines. 2, 4 and 6-month check-ins by OAA. This allows us to intervene early if there are problems. Draft files are due in OAA at the 6-month mark. So far things are on track. Of the 7 reviews launched 6 months ago, we have seen – or are about to see – draft long forms for all. When extensions are needed, they are for much shorter periods (used to be 1 year, now 3 months).

2 Task Force Recommendation - Solicit Letters During Search
Numbers are trending in the right direction. Process changes: Requiring 3 external letters of evaluation before releasing the offer letter. Requiring minimum number of letters before approving acting appointments. Actively encouraging full complement of letters in all situations (there is a trend in this direction). Data to Date

3 Task Force Recommendation - Shorten Acting Appts
Overall percentage of interim appointments has remained the same, but the length of the interim appointment is getting shorter.
