Service Learning Through service-learning, young people—from kindergarteners to college students—use what they learn in the classroom to solve real-life problems. They not only learn the practical applications of their studies, they become actively contributing citizens and community members through the service they perform.

Animal Shelter

Animal Shelter While I was at the animal shelter I cleaned out the dog cages and cleaned up after them. I also walked them and played outside with the dogs. I also went to PetSmart to help adopt these puppies. Being around these animals with no homes made me feel like I was doing something positive and hopefully creating a home for them.

Donating Blood
8
Donating Blood The football team held a blood drive and I went to give blood. Giving blood saved a life. I had never given blood before and as much as it is a positive thing, I do not think I will ever do it again. I learned from the process that not only does it save a life, it also helps me. Giving blood every 6 months reduces your chances of having a heart attack.

Tennis Fundraiser

Tennis Fundraiser I helped sell t-shirts to raise money for the tennis team here at Valdosta State University. Doing this, I came in contact with a lot of supporters and huge fans for the team.
